Scheduling Trial

The Diviner 2000 Trial has been designed for growers in the Berri Barmera region to gain free access to new scheduling equipment. The Diviners (with a market value of $3500) are shared with 2 other neighbouring irrigators for 1 year. So what's the catch?

1. INSTALLING ACCESS TUBES
The Diviner 2000 measures soil moisture by being lowered into a specially designed access tube, usually installed 1.5-2 meters into the soil profile. The access tube and its installation costs $135. Growers can request that Yandilla Park install as many or as few access tubes as they feel necessary, on one or more of their properties. The cost of the access tube and its installation will be the responsibility of the grower. Yandilla Park visit your property to decide on the location of the access tube (at no additional cost) to assist growers in deciding the best location and number of access tubes.

2. TRAINING
Once all access tubes have been installed, the initial training on the use of the Diviner 2000 will be provided free. This training occurs at a meeting where all growers will be taken through the use and maintenance of the equipment. The first eight hours of on-going assistance throughout the year will be provided at a subsidized rate.

3. DIVINER 2000 TEAMS
At the training meeting, growers will be introduced to one another and organized into three teams of four (based on their proximity to others in their team) each team will share one Diviner 2000 unit throughout the 2000/2001 financial year. It will be important that all growers know each other's contact details and home address.
