Conservation & Biodiversity

One of the key strategies of the Berri Barmera Local Action Planning Committee is to protect existing native vegetation and encourage community groups and individuals to undertake revegetation works.

The importance of protecting and enhancing biodiversity can not be overstated, and the Berri Barmera LAP committee actively supports projects which include biodiversity outcomes.

Incentive funding is available to groups or individuals who wish to undertake projects relating to revegetation or protecting existing vegetation. This includes money for plants, seeds and fencing. To find out more visit the Riverland Revegetation Incentive Scheme.

To date, in excess of $75 000 has been offered to landholders and groups to undertake these projects. A report which examines the projects from 2000 & 2001 can be viewed from the following link. Alternatively, click here to view some of the projects which have been undertaken.
