Native Fish Recovery

Although Native Fish Recovery was not identified as a specific objective in the Berri Barmera Local Action Plan, a number of projects, especially relating to Wetland and Floodplain management have actions specifically relating to supporting native fish populations. These actions include mechanisms to control European Carp, enhancing aquatic habitat for native fish and re-introducing flow regimes to wetlands.

katfish The BBLAP committee is also a partner in KATFISH REACH, a large scale project aimed at recovering native fish populations in Katarapko Creek, Eckerts Creek and surrounding areas.
